Action is Better than Preparedness
The quote from The “Doctrine Of The Mean” goes,”In all things, success lies in previous preparations and there will be failure without previous preparations”,But in some sense, excessive preparation becames a manifestation of procrastination.
For instance,when I need to improve my writing level,maybe I’ll think I need a pretty pen,a beautiful notebook and a comfortable chair.However
The procrastinator usually can’t understand a truth:Thorough preparation aims to make things perfect, while endless procrastination prevents one from taking the first step towards getting started.
For example,a good pair of running shoes can improve the running experience;a pair of HiFi headphones can make music more enjoyable. However, the essence of running lies in the act of running itself, and the essence of music lies in the music itself. As we enter the state of”being in progress”,the importance of those so-called “preparations” gradually fades away.
If we consider something as an “exam”,then”thorough preparation” is merely an “extra score”,and the real key to “passing” lies in “taking action”.
Only through action can we truly experience the joy of the process and the achievements of the results, and only then can we achieve real growth and progress.
